Welp, it’s finally happened. For the first time since starting my weekly blog, I didn’t get any game time in. I’ve been messing with Photoshop for the first time to make YouTube thumbnails for my upcoming Game Pass game playthroughs and didn’t have time for anything else. I think they came out alright, hopefully you’ll get to see them in a couple weeks. This will be a shorter update as a result, but I still wanted to get something out there for you to read.
Game Acquisitions
Despite not playing anything, I still added another five games to my list. Totally free, as that usually seems to be the case so far this year. River City Girls is the most well-known of the bunch. I’m not really a beat-em-up fan, but I also haven’t played all the way through one before so perhaps I haven’t given the genre a fair shake. Plus this one is co-op and everything is more fun with friends.

TV/Movie Recaps
Here is everything I watched this week:
· Shadow and Bone Season 1 Episodes 2-7
· Family Guy Season 23 Episode 8
· Moana 2
Looks like not much was watched either. I’m enjoying Shadow and Bone so far. Seeing the different magical abilities people have is cool. I’m curious what direction the show’s going to take after what happened in the most recent episode. I will say that it does feel smaller of a show than I was expecting. For some reason I was picturing some grand fantasy epic like LOTR and instead it’s just the interesting exploits of a small core group of mostly ordinary people. I’m not complaining, I just need to adjust my expectations. Moana 2 was, as expected, not as good as the first movie. It was OK, but not really mindblowing. The character I thought was the villain didn't really do anything at all, and the best song in the movie took lines from a song in the first movie to try and be just as good. The movie was not all that memorable and I likely will not be returning to it until Moana 3 comes out (we know it's gonna happen).
Conclusion/Upcoming
I’m going to be spending the next few days probably in Photoshop, then hopefully getting back to setting up Playnite on my new computer. I’ve only had one gaming session since finishing the build a couple weeks ago which is not great. I don’t expect to finish setting everything up this week but if I do, I’ll be playing both Turnip Boy games. Even if I don’t get everything set up, my friend and I may still get another Tales of Phantasia session in. It’s slowly starting to get interesting! I’ll be watching Shadow and Bone all week so no new shows there. I did switch up my upcoming movie list a bit. The next movie on my list is going to be Sonic the Hedgehog 3. The first two were OK video game adaptations with some funny moments and I’m sure the third installment will be more of the same. I do like Keanu Reeves though so that might help. Thanks for reading!
